A medical device manufacturer had a product requiring occasional software updates which could only be activated with a unique authorization code. The customer was using internal resources to field these requests, manually entering the data and fulfilling each request on an individual basis. This manual approach was time consuming, labor intensive and a waste of valuable staff hours.
PGI took a proactive approach by completely removing the burden of authorization code fulfillment from our customer. We developed a custom software solution that interacts directly with the customer’s Oracle systems to pull customer data on a daily basis for fulfillment. Using customer-provided authorization codes, we print the codes and instructions and fulfill on a daily basis. Through rigorous auditing, we were able to establish HIPAA compliance and provide full traceability from printing to fulfillment.
Our customers experienced significant cost savings by reducing internal manpower and streamlining kitting and fulfillment. The simplified authorization code process also provided full traceability and tracking for each code that is shipped. By printing large batches of authorization codes at a time, we were able to provide deep discounts on the paper, printing and bundling of codes and instructions. By becoming an extension of our customer’s backend functions, PGI enabled our client to refocus their resources on more critical functions.
